Swat is full of waterfalls, from giant cliff-falls like Jarogo to easy roadside ones like Charr Tangay. Here are the best.
The tallest waterfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dropping approximately 800 feet (244 metres) in a single cascade. Located in Lower Swat near Madyan, visible from the main Mingora-Kalam road.
The viewing point is accessible by a 20-minute walk from the road. The fall is most spectacular in May-June when snowmelt is at its peak. By September the flow reduces significantly.
Photography tip: the best light hits the waterfall between 10 AM and 1 PM.
The most family-friendly waterfall in Swat, located a 10-minute walk from the Mingora-Marghuzar road. Multi-tiered cascade with shaded picnic spots at the base.
Easy flat walk accessible for elderly visitors and children. The pool at the base is shallow enough to wade in.
Parking is available on the roadside. No entry fee.

Located near Bahrain, a 20-minute hike from the main road through a narrow gorge. The fall emerges from a slot canyon wall and drops into a cold pool.
Best visited in April-May. By August the water level drops. Bring grippy footwear as the trail is wet and rocky.

A lesser-known but photogenic cascade in upper Swat. The waterfall is surrounded by pine forest and flows through a series of small natural terraces.
Best in June-July when the snowmelt is active. Accessible by a moderate 45-minute trek.

A seasonal waterfall on the trail to Daral Lake from Bahrain. Passes near the Daral Dam and through dense forest. Best visited as part of the Daral Lake trek.
A picnic spot near Marghuzar featuring a small but scenic waterfall and natural pool. Very popular with local families on weekends.
15 minutes drive from White Palace Marghuzar. Shaded sitting area and small food stalls nearby.
Charr Tangay, only a 10-minute walk from the parking area with shaded picnic spots, shallow wading pool and no steep trails.
Jarogo Waterfall, at approximately 800 feet (244 metres), is the tallest in Swat and one of the tallest in KPK.
Most partially freeze or become very icy. Charr Tangay and Spina Banda can still be reached, but the trail to Donchar Gul is unsafe when frozen.
